More than 320 students from five Bulgarian cities took part in the “Meet Big Business” initiative, held in Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia, Burgas and Varna. The events were organised by the Youth Council at the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria, with Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria joining as a partner through its educational programme #YouthEmpowered, which focuses on developing young people’s skills and supporting their career orientation.

During the meetings, participants had the chance to explore the realities of the business world and hear inspiring stories from experts from the Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria team, as well as from entrepreneur Metodi Kanazirski, founder of “Vektori Design”, who also joined the series as a guest speaker.

In Plovdiv, Adriana Trifonova from Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria spoke about adaptability as a key quality for the new generation of professionals. In Veliko Tarnovo, Hristo Dimov and Anita Miteva discussed the value of pedagogical experience in large organisations and the role of leadership in building strong teams.

In Sofia, Raya Dracheva shared insights into the career path of a business lawyer and the importance of having the courage to follow your own choices. In Burgas, Mladen Totev talked about managing key client partnerships and the path toward sustainable business development. The event in Varna concluded with a lecture by Ivaylo Kostov, who shared his professional journey and encouraged young people to create their own opportunities.

The “Meet Big Business” initiative is aimed at high school students from grades 9 to 12, as well as university students. It introduces them to opportunities for professional development in the corporate world through direct meetings with experienced professionals. During the events, participants were able to ask questions, receive practical advice and learn more about the skills employers are looking for today.

The partnership with the Youth Council at the U.S. Embassy builds on Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria’s long-standing commitment to supporting young people. Since 2017, nearly 36,000 young people in Bulgaria have developed skills for a successful career start through the #YouthEmpowered programme.
