The soft drinks and bottled water producers in Bulgaria have created over BGN 234 million added value in the country's economy for 2022.

A study by the Institute of Market Economy reveals the significant contribution of enterprises in the sector to the economy, employment, social responsibility and society in the country.

The enterprises producing soft drinks and bottled water created an added value of over BGN 234 million in the Bulgarian economy in 2022, which represents nearly 43% of the added value in the production of all types of drinks and over 1.2% of the added value throughout the manufacturing industry. This is shown by a study by the Institute of Market Economy for the Bulgarian soft drinks Association. For the past year, the enterprises in the sector for the production of non-alcoholic beverages and bottled water have directly contributed to public revenues in the amount of about BGN 11 million from corporate tax. as well as over BGN 42 million in social security contributions and BGN 8.8 million in income tax for employed persons. In addition, sales of soft drinks in the country generate an additional nearly BGN 260 million in value added tax paid by end users. The purpose of the study is to provide an up-to-date perspective on the key indicators of the state and development of the sector by examining the overall impact of the companies' activities on the related industries and the country's economy.
