The Fikosota Group is among the leading Bulgarian manufacturers of FMCG. It owns a portfolio of over 20 different brands in the categories of fabric care products, personal hygiene products and food products. It exports to over 80 countries and in 2024 has consolidated sales revenues of nearly 450 million leva. 24chasa.bg talked to Krasen Kyurkchiev, manager and owner of the company, about the successful development of Fikosota and its strategic partnership with Lidl Bulgaria:
- Mr. Kyurkchiev, what is your story? How did it all start and what drives you forward?
- We started in 1994. We were 15 people and we were making dishwashing detergent. There were no big plans. There was only a lot of enthusiasm and a desire to do something meaningful. Today, 30 years later, we stand behind over 20 strong brands that people like and choose not only in Bulgaria, but also in dozens of other markets around the world.
We believe that if we are going to do something, we should do it in a way that makes sense – both for the people who use it, for those who create it, and for the idea behind it. And when difficult times come, we see them as an opportunity. During the Covid pandemic, we didn’t stop – we invested, we developed, we protected our people. And then the results came.
For me, business is a long-term mission. You do the right things, you build trust, and you don’t rush for short-term wins. That’s our driving force.
