Every bottle and can you return puts money back in your pocket — and helps build a greener future.
A small deposit is added to the price of drinks sold in plastic bottles or metal cans. Once you finish your drink, simply return the empty container and get your money back on the spot. The funds collected through the scheme go directly toward expanding recycling infrastructure and improving waste processing across the country.
Zhana Velichkova, Executive Director of the Soft Drinks Producers Association, joined NOVA NEWS to explain how it works:
"This is a real incentive to recycle. Once you've finished your drink, you return the bottle or can and get your deposit back immediately. There are two ways to do it — through automated reverse vending machines, or through manual collection points. Retailers can choose whichever method works best for them."
