Bulgaria took part in the 49th World Beekeeping Congress Apimondia 2025, which was held  between 23 and 27 of September 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark. At this prestigious event, uniting beekeepers, scientists and experts from all over the world, our country presented the best samples of Bulgarian honey within the special exhibition area “Global Honey Bar”. Over 7000 delegates from 121 countries had the opportunity to taste honey from 42 countries.

Bulgaria presented honey from acacia, from forest bouquet, chestnut, coriander, lavender, linden, rapeseed and of course Strandzhanski manov med, which is the only one in our country with a protected geographical indication. A special page has been prepared for each type of honey, which also presented the beekeeper with photos and information about the area of his apiary.

This initiative aims to promote authentic and high-quality bee products from different regions of the country, emphasizing the unique taste and healing qualities of Bulgarian honey. The selection was prepared by Bilyana Nikolova – the first and only honey sommelier in Bulgaria.
