Over 90% of citizens believe that separate collection is important, but only 44% do it regularly

According to 9 out of 10 citizens, small actions such as recycling (or separate collection) matter. But only 44% say they always collect their waste separately, 36% - sometimes, and 20% never. This is shown by the results of a representative online survey among 415 people aged 20 to 55 years of urban population, conducted on behalf of packaging waste recovery organizations in Bulgaria in August 2025.

A total of four packaging waste recovery organizations operate in Bulgaria - Ecopack, Ecobulpack, Bulekopack and Eco Partners. They operate in almost 200 municipalities, provide colored containers and cover 100% of their services in order to meet the legal packaging recycling targets.
